My Newly Built PC Suddenly Lost Display Signal—What Could Be Wrong?

I put together a new PC with parts from Microcenter, but now it won't display anything. It was working fine during gaming tonight when the display signal dropped out unexpectedly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the GPU and RAM, and checked all connections. The monitor was connected via DisplayPort, and I even tried switching to HDMI, but still no luck. Here's what I have in my build:
- ASROCK RX9070XT CL 16G
- AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (without cooler)
- Samsung 2TB 990 EVO Plus M.2 SSD
- ASROCK B850 Live Mixer WF motherboard
- Thermalright Assassin X120 SE Slim RGB cooler
- MSI A850GS FM 80+G ATX3 PSU
- Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 RAM

Sounds tough. I’d recommend completely uninstalling the drivers (using DDU – Display Driver Uninstaller) and then reinstalling them fresh. You mentioned code 43 which could indicate a driver issue. If that doesn’t help, flashing your BIOS could be worth a shot, though it’s odd it would fail mid-gaming. Sorry to hear about the warranty situation, too; that’s always a bummer.

You might want to give the onboard integrated GPU a try instead of using the RX 9070XT. It could help rule out if the graphics card is the problem or not. Let us know how it goes!

I tried it and it worked! Just updated the graphics driver, but it didn’t fix the issue with the graphics card.

Testing with the integrated GPU is a good step, and if you have another monitor or TV, check it out too; it could be the monitor acting up. Good luck!

The integrated GPU worked fine. I updated the graphics driver, but I'm not sure what to try next.

Sometimes driver updates don’t resolve everything, but keep me posted on what happens!
