My PC Can’t Run Games Properly and Steam Is Stuck on Loading

Hey folks, I'm having a serious issue with my computer when trying to play games. It either lags heavily or just freezes on the loading screen. I've reset the PC multiple times, and I'm not detecting any viruses. I've cleaned out the dust and had a friend check it out, but it's still not functioning right. Here are my specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 9600X (6-core, 12-thread), RAM - TeamGroup DDR5 32GB (2x16GB), GPU - AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil, and I have liquid cooling for the CPU. I'm open to sending a video if that helps. Any advice on what might be going wrong, or should I just take it back to the store where it was built?

Honestly, your specs could use an upgrade if you're looking for more performance, especially for higher-end gaming. While your CPU is decent, a more powerful GPU could make a big difference too. What do you mean by your GPU isn't top-tier? The RX 9070 XT is solid for most games!

I know I should eventually get a new CPU, but this one worked well for a long time. The GPU isn't the latest Nvidia model, but it's still pretty decent, right?

You should try reseating the RAM and testing with one stick at a time to rule out a faulty module. Also, have you updated your motherboard's BIOS? That can often help with stability issues.

I’ve only had this PC for about 5 months, so I’m still figuring things out. It was smooth sailing for about 3 months, but these problems popped up, and I've been struggling to fix them for the last 2 months.

Have you disabled the onboard video? I ran into issues when it was enabled. You can usually do this through BIOS or Device Manager. Also, double-check that your video cable is plugged into the graphics card and not the onboard port—it's an easy mistake to make. If you're still encountering issues, you might want to roll back your video drivers as Windows can try to update them automatically.

I rolled the drivers back a couple of times, but it didn't help. I'll definitely try disabling the onboard video next.

Some motherboards have issues with PCIe 5.0 GPUs, so you might want to manually set it to PCIe 4.0 in your BIOS. Start by reseating the GPU and checking all your connections. If that doesn't fix things, try underclocking the GPU a bit to see if that helps. If it does, you might need to RMA it since it could be faulty. Also, dive into the Windows Event Viewer to see if that sheds any light on the freezing issues. If you need links to guides for performance fixes, let me know!

I have an ROG B650 motherboard, and they told me all my parts would work fine together. It was good for a while but then started acting up out of nowhere.
