I bought my PC back in November with 16GB RAM, a GTX 1070, and an i5 12400f, and it was running games perfectly. However, just a few days ago, I noticed it began stuttering and lagging badly during gameplay. I've tried changing the setting to high performance in the Nvidia app, but that didn't resolve the issue. My storage seems fine, and the utilization for both GPU and CPU looks normal during gaming. My RAM usage is usually around 10GB out of 15.8GB while playing, which shouldn't be a problem, but I just can't pinpoint what's causing all this trouble.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Sometimes that's all it takes! Also, is the lag happening during gaming or just when browsing? I recommend checking your task manager to see what’s hogging your resources. Did you recently download anything suspicious?
Make sure your GPU is actually being utilized. It might also be worth looking into the thermal paste; if it’s dried out, your GPU could be overheating and throttling its performance.
During gameplay, the temp can go up to 80°C with around 70% usage!
This could be due to a recent update. I’m facing lag issues in games that previously ran flawlessly. Have you tried rolling back the updates? That might help you get back to smooth gameplay.

I did the restart thing, but it didn’t help. In the task manager, it shows RAM is being used at about 6GB while I'm doing nothing. The GPU and CPU are sitting around 0 usage. The only new thing I installed was MSI Afterburner. The stuttering only happens in-game.
