My PC is acting up and I can’t figure it out!

I'm really at my wit's end with my computer. About a month ago, I tried to play a video I recorded on my phone and it wouldn't play on my PC, which was strange. Later that day, my computer randomly told me it needed to restart while I was working on a college assignment. It didn't seem like a big deal at first, but over the following days, my computer started acting up in many frustrating ways. It would freeze when opening files, become unresponsive, sometimes didn't recognize my hard drive, and even showed a black screen over my desktop icons at times. I checked my hard drive health and saw thousands of reallocated sectors, so I replaced it. However, that didn't solve everything. Now, even simple tasks are a struggle; my PC sometimes claims it has low memory, but the usage looks fine. A friend suggested reseating the RAM, which I did, but now the computer turns on while everything connected to it doesn't get power. I double-check that the RAM is seated correctly, but I'm stumped. Any suggestions?

It sounds like you've been through a lot with your PC! First things first, when you reseated your RAM, did you put the sticks back into the same slots? If you're not sure, trying different slots might help, but be careful not to mix them up if your motherboard has specific slot requirements.

Yes, I put them back in the same slots I took them out of. I wasn't sure if changing them would cause issues.
