My PC is struggling with modern games—what parts should I upgrade?

I'm not the most experienced when it comes to building PCs, and I'm trying to figure out what I should replace to get my gaming rig up to speed. My current setup includes a GTX 1060 GPU, an i5-8600k CPU, a Z370 motherboard, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. I'm mainly playing games like Battlefield and Borderlands 4, and I've noticed that my GPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements for these. Should I just go ahead and upgrade everything, or is there anything I could keep? I'd also love to know roughly how much I should expect to spend on these upgrades without going overboard.

Honestly, it sounds like a full rebuild might be your best bet at this point. Your CPU is getting a bit outdated, and the 1060 is definitely on its last legs for games like Battlefield and Borderlands. I’d recommend going with something like a 7600x build on an AM5 platform. It shouldn't break the bank and will give you a huge performance boost. Pair that with a modern GPU—maybe a 4060—and you'll be set for a while!

I kind of figured that, but I wasn't sure if I could salvage anything. Thanks for the clarity!
