Hey everyone, my monitor suddenly stopped getting a signal from my PC. Everything was working fine yesterday, but today, I lost the signal out of nowhere. I've done some troubleshooting already and listed what I've tried below. I also tested my old GPU, which used to work fine, but it now loses signal after about 15 minutes. Interestingly, my monitor recognizes when I plug or unplug the HDMI cable, but it just shows 'no signal' afterwards.
I've noticed that the GPU fans turn on as soon as I power on the PC, unlike before when they only started when reaching a certain temperature.
Here's what I've attempted so far:
- Tested each RAM stick in every slot individually.
- Removed the battery from the motherboard for several minutes.
- Tried a different power supply.
- Swapped out the HDMI cable.
- Used a different GPU.
- Left the monitor unplugged for a while.
For context, my PC specs are:
- Motherboard: Asus Prime B450M-A AM4 ATX
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5600
- 750W power supply (I also tried a 600W PSU with an Nvidia 1660)
Given all this, do you think it might be best to get a new motherboard?

It sounds like you might have a faulty motherboard, especially since you’ve tested different GPUs and power supplies without any luck. Have you checked if you can access the UEFI/BIOS at all? If you can, check the voltage readings. If the 3.3V is low, that could indicate an issue with the motherboard's 24-pin port. Just a thought, could there be any PCIe devices besides the GPU? That might help narrow things down.
It really feels like your motherboard might be the issue given that you've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps. Losing signal right away and your GPU fans acting up are big red flags. If your voltages are normal in BIOS, it’s a bit more complicated, but it still might be time to consider a new motherboard. Sorry you're going through this!
