Hey everyone, I just upgraded my CPU from a 7700X to a 9950X3D, but now my PC keeps boot looping. It posts to the BIOS, then crashes with blue screens. Any advice on how to fix this?

It sounds like you might be trying to boot an operating system that's set up for the 7700X. This could be causing the boot loop issue. Have you thought about reinstalling Windows? That might be necessary to get everything working properly with the new CPU. Let me know if you need more help with that!

Do I need to reinstall windows? Or what exactly do I need to do?

What motherboard do you have?

What motherboard are you using? It's essential since some boards might need a BIOS update for the 9 series chips to function correctly. Did you check on that?

What kind of blue screens are you getting? Is it a Windows error? Also, can you access the BIOS without issues? Knowing your full specs can really help diagnose the problem!

I didn't delete anything, don't worry! Enjoy troubleshooting! 🙂

I have an Asus TUF B650, and I just got it two weeks ago. My setup includes a 4070 Super and the 9950X3D. And yes, it's a Windows blue screen, but I'm not sure if I can even get into BIOS anymore.
