I'm having a frustrating issue with my PC where the screen goes dark and the fans rev up to full speed. I found some advice online suggesting that a BIOS update might solve the problem, so I went ahead and updated it. However, now when I start my PC, it goes directly to the BIOS screen. Every time I try to exit and boot into Windows, it sends me right back to the BIOS. I'm pretty sure my Windows drive is set as the first in the boot sequence, and I'm really stumped for solutions. Any advice or ideas?

Did the system overheat before this happened? If overheating was an issue, it might have affected how everything is set up now.
What brand is your PC, or what components do you have in it? Sometimes knowing the specific model can help pinpoint the issue better.
Have you tried restoring the BIOS to default settings? There should be an option for that in the BIOS menu. It might help it boot into Windows again.
Double-check that the BIOS update was done correctly. Sometimes if you use an unofficial version or if the update gets interrupted, it can mess things up like this.

It’s a custom build! I got it second-hand and recently upgraded to an MSI A520M-A Pro motherboard.
