My PC Keeps Overheating—What Should I Check Next?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a PC from the marketplace, and while it ran well for the first few days, I'm now facing some serious overheating issues. I initially suspected the AIO cooler because it wasn't detected in the BIOS at all. I replaced it with a used ROG RYUJIN III 360, which is showing as running, and the fan works when the LED display is off. However, it's still overheating, hitting 90 to 100 degrees Celsius with no programs running, resulting in crashes. What else should I look into? Could the CPU be the culprit? Here are my specs: Intel i7-7700k CPU at 4.2 GHz, ASUS Maximus IX Formula motherboard, 32 GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 TI. I'm running Windows 10 Pro.

Honestly, I would recommend stepping back and considering a good air cooler instead of relying on a used AIO. They can handle the job for much less money and hassle. Just my two cents!

It sounds like the AIO cooler might not be getting enough power. Since you've mentioned that it runs only when the LED display is off, have you checked the connections and power supply? Also, don't forget to verify if you applied thermal paste correctly; even a small mistake can cause overheating issues.

I did apply fresh thermal paste, and the cooler's fans are working, just not the little fan under the LED.

Hey! So, what exactly do you mean by overheating? If your PC is hitting 90 to 100 degrees Celsius, that's definitely a problem. Have you checked whether all your fans are spinning properly? Also, ensure that there's no dust buildup obstructing airflow in your case.

Yeah, it's running at those temps with nothing open. It crashes frequently.
