My PC Keeps Shutting Off When Trying to Play Games – Need Help Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I'm really struggling with my PC and could use some help figuring this out. It completely shuts down when I try to load into games like Arc Raiders. Here are the specs of my setup:

- **Motherboard:** ASRock A320M-HDV r4.0 (I've updated the BIOS to version 7.4)
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT
- **GPU:** MSI RTX 3050 (the 6GB version that doesn't need an external power cable)
- **PSU:** I don't know the model, but it's around 6-7 years old.

The problem started with the PC shutting down even during simple tasks like browsing Google. After updating the BIOS and tweaking some settings based on advice, it stopped the crashes during regular use. However, it still shuts off within seconds when I try to launch a heavier game. I'm wondering if my old PSU could be the issue or if there are other settings I should be looking at in the BIOS.

You really need to check the PSU specs. If it's a cheap model, it might not handle your components well. Also, shutting down during a BIOS update can be risky, so make sure that didn't mess up anything. Just play it safe and get that PSU checked or replaced if possible!

It didn’t actually shut down during the BIOS update; it crashed afterward when I tried launching a game.

I think the most likely culprit here is definitely that old PSU. If it’s 6-7 years old, it might not be providing enough power for your system, especially when running demanding games. You should look into getting a new one, as even a decent PSU can make a big difference in stability.
