I was using my PC for about 20 minutes, just working on Google Docs, when suddenly I heard a pop sound and it shut off. Now, it won't turn back on. I've opened it up and checked, but I can't find anything broken or unplugged, and I built this PC in January 2025, so it's pretty new. I suspect that the power supply might be the issue since I isolated it, but it's hard to believe it could malfunction already. Any advice on what steps I should take next?

Have you tried changing the fuse in the plug? Sometimes that can be an easy fix!
Testing a power supply is pretty straightforward if you have a multimeter. There are plenty of guides online that can help you out with that!
First off, try swapping the power supply with another one that you know is working. That way, you won’t be guessing if that’s really the issue. It's the simplest way to rule it out or confirm it as the culprit.
Yeah, it could definitely be the power supply. That's usually the first thing to check in these situations.
It sounds like one of the capacitors in your power supply might have blown. I had a similar experience before with my computer.
Trust your instincts on this one and focus on the power supply. It’s likely the source of the problem.

Absolutely! Just make sure to replace all the cables if you’re using a modular power supply.
