My PC Turned Off Suddenly and Now Won’t Power On—What Should I Do?

I was playing a game when my PC suddenly shut down completely. It's not overheating or anything; everything seemed fine before it happened. Now, it won't turn back on at all. However, it seems to still provide some power because my mouse light is on, and the USB ports seem active. But the fans aren't running, and I've tried turning it on with a screwdriver, so I don't think it's just the power button. I'm starting to suspect that the motherboard might be the issue. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? Here are my specs: Intel Core i5 4570 CPU at 3.20 GHz, 8GB RAM, GT 730 GPU, and a Value-Top VT-S200B 200W ATX power supply.

Yep, sounds like the PSU has failed. I had the same thing happen with my setup—suddenly shut down and wouldn’t restart. With a weaker PSU, sometimes they just can't handle power spikes. You want to troubleshoot with a more robust power supply if possible.

Honestly, it might just be mad at you. Have you considered giving it a little appreciation? Maybe take it out for a nice dinner...? Just kidding! But seriously, it does sound like a hardware issue, likely the PSU or motherboard.

It sounds like your power supply (PSU) might be the culprit, especially since it's only 200W. That’s really on the low side for a setup like yours. If your CPU tried to boost its performance, it could have drawn too much power and caused the PSU to shut down. You might want to check if the PSU is functioning properly by jumping the green and black wires. Just make sure to double-check how to do this safely! If you have access to a stronger PSU, give it a try to see if that fixes the issue.

Lol, maybe it just needed a break! But in all seriousness, check on that PSU first—it’s a weak point in your build. If it's not working right, it could affect other parts too. Good luck!
