I recently upgraded the fans and cooler on my PC, but I ran out of fan headers on my motherboard. I ended up using a USB fan controller hub, which I lazily plugged into an existing SATA daisy chain. After connecting the new fans, my PC turned on briefly, then it wouldn't start again. I managed to get it on through power cycling, but now the motherboard light is stuck orange. I've tried different RAM configurations and cycles, but nothing changes. I read that I might need to flash the BIOS using the USB slot on the back, but I'm worried if my system is completely fried or if there's hope for it. I hope my 64GB of DDR5 isn't damaged because of my shortcut. I really need some guidance here!

If you're using an AMD setup, it might help to let the system sit a while for memory training. Sometimes a hard reset can cause issues that lead to the orange light signaling a problem. Put your RAM back in the correct slots and just give it some time to boot up. I doubt the fans caused any permanent damage to your BIOS, so it might still be salvageable!
For future upgrades, consider using fan header splitters instead of going the USB hub route. They usually allow you to safely connect multiple fans to one header. First thing you should do is unplug the SATA power from the fan hub if you haven't already. Also, make sure to turn off the power supply, disconnect it, and then press the case power button to completely drain any residual power from the system. Once everything's clear, try the BIOS flashback—just ensure you extract the BIOS file to the root of your USB drive and rename it correctly.
