I recently had my PC running just fine, but then I realized I had forgotten to connect the SATA power cable for one of my drives. So, I opened it up, connected the power cable, and closed everything back up. But now, when I hit the power button, nothing happens! I do see some lights on the motherboard, and my keyboard briefly powers on when I plug it in. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting all the cables and ensuring everything is properly connected to the power supply. But still, nothing works except for the lights on the mobo. I'm curious if I might have accidentally damaged the case power button or if there's something else I should look into. Any tips on how to troubleshoot this?

First off, make sure you triple check all your cables and connectors. It's definitely worth unplugging that SATA cable you just added, as sometimes things can short out when using cables from different power supplies since they're not always standardized. You might have just had a temporary short!
Good idea! Also, just to let you know, it turns out removing the SATA data cable helped the system boot up fine. Do you know if motherboards have a preferred order for loading SATA drives?
I only used the cables that came with the PSU, but I'll check again just in case!
