My PC Won’t Boot After Turning It Off for a Few Hours

I've had my PC running for a week without shutting it down, but after turning it off for a few hours, it won't start up again. I tried unplugging the power cable and holding the power button for 30 seconds, which didn't help. However, the LEDs inside the PC are now lit up. What steps should I take to troubleshoot this issue?

It could be your power supply or possibly the motherboard that's causing this. If the motherboard isn't getting power, it might be worth looking into replacing the power supply. Sometimes just re-seating the power cables can make a difference.

Try powering everything down, disconnecting all external devices, and then plugging everything back in. If you're still getting no display, check if your motherboard has any debug lights on it. They can indicate hardware issues if they're lit up. Also, make sure you're using a different video connector, like HDMI instead of DisplayPort, to rule out cable issues.

Good tip! I've had similar issues where just switching the cable helped. Also, don't forget to check if your monitor is also getting power.

I've heard that if the CMOS battery dies, it can prevent the system from starting up. It might be worth replacing the CR2032 battery on the motherboard if other troubleshooting doesn't work. Do you see any blinking LEDs that might indicate a specific error?

First off, make sure to provide some details about your PC brand and operating system. Sometimes, a loose display connection can make it seem like the PC is off, especially with certain brands like Dell. It might just be a minor connection issue.
