Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind and could use some help. My PC recently had issues due to a motherboard short circuit, so I replaced it with an ASUS A520M-PLUS II. It powers on and seems stable, but now it gets stuck at the American Megatrends screen and won't boot into Windows. The odd part is that after I tested my setup with my boyfriend's peripherals and monitor, his PC started displaying the same boot issue, even though it was fine before. We didn't swap any components, and all the cables I used were his—what could be going on?

First, check how Windows was installed on both systems. Was it set up using CSM with MBR or UEFI with GPT? The BIOS settings need to match your OS installation to boot properly. As for your boyfriend's situation, it's odd, but it could be related. Sometimes if the BIOS resets (maybe due to a faulty CMOS battery), it can lead to boot issues.

His PC is set to UEFI. We're really stressed since it's almost 3 years old and suddenly showing the same problem as mine right after. It's just bizarre!
