My PC won’t boot – Is it time to replace something?

I built my PC about 1 to 2 years ago, and it was running well for a while. Then it started freezing often, and I could only restart it by holding down the power button. After dealing with the freezes for around two months, I did a factory reset, but then my internet stopped working, and I eventually gave up on it when it wouldn't boot anymore. I changed the SSD and am now trying to install Windows, but it won't boot from the USB drive. Do I need to replace any parts?

You could also check if the USB drive is functioning properly. Sometimes the drive itself might be the issue. If you've got another computer, try booting from that USB to see if it works elsewhere. If it does, then it could point to a motherboard or boot configuration issue.

It sounds like your motherboard might be acting up. Without another working system to test the components, it can be tough to pinpoint. When you say it won't boot from the USB, have you tried entering the BIOS to adjust the boot order, or did you hit the boot select key to choose the USB drive directly? What exactly happens when you try to boot from it?
