My PC Won’t Boot—Is My Power Supply the Problem?

I recently upgraded my PC, swapping out the GPU for a 5060 Ti (16GB), upgrading the motherboard to an Aorus Elite B850M, and replacing the RAM and CPU with a 9600X. However, I kept the same power supply, a Thermaltake Smart 600W, from the prebuilt system. One day, my computer wouldn't boot up; it just showed a black screen with a white dash in the corner. After unplugging everything, I noticed a burning smell. Given that I've had this power supply for three years (since December 2022), I'm worried it might be the issue. What should I do?

It sounds like your power supply might be on its way out. I'd recommend checking the PSU Tier List for a suitable replacement; aiming for at least a C tier is a good idea. Just keep your fingers crossed that the failing PSU didn't mess up any of your new components!

When I smelled burning, I checked my GPU and motherboard, and they looked fine. Plus, it had only been about 3 hours since I last used it, which adds to my worries!
