Hey everyone, I'm having a tough time with my PC not connecting to the Wi-Fi from the router in the basement. I tried using a Wi-Fi extender in my room, but that's not working either. My phone connects without a problem, so it seems to be an issue with the PC. I even considered getting a different router for my room, but I've been told that won't help. Unfortunately, using an Ethernet cable isn't an option since the router is two floors down and it would be messy. I'd really appreciate any advice or solutions to get this sorted out!

First things first, check if your PC can detect any Wi-Fi networks at all. You can also try turning your phone into a hotspot to see if your PC connects to that. If it works on the hotspot, we can rule out issues with your PC itself and focus on your Wi-Fi connection.
Since your PC connects to the hotspot, it seems it's just your Wi-Fi that's the problem. Does anyone else in the house use the same router? You might want to bring your PC closer to the router temporarily to test if there's a signal issue.
If you're comfortable resetting your Wi-Fi settings, you can try this: open the Command Prompt and type 'netsh interface ip reset', then hit ENTER. After that, restart your PC and see if you can reconnect to the router.

Yeah, my PC sees networks and connects to my phone's hotspot, but it still won't work with the home Wi-Fi.
