My PC Won’t Turn On After a Power Outage

Hey everyone, I had a power outage, and when the power came back, my Dell XPS 8940 wouldn't start up properly. After the outage, I noticed the monitor was completely black, so I turned it off and unplugged it to avoid potential issues with rapid power cycling. Now, it doesn't respond at all when I press the power button – it's as if it's not plugged in at all. Anyone have any ideas about what could be wrong?

First, try this: turn off the power switch and unplug the computer. Then, hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power. After that, plug it back in, turn the switch on, and check if the standby light comes on. That might help get things working again.

I noticed a little green light under the power cable when I plugged it back in; it flashes green briefly but then goes off. Could that be a problem?
