My PC Won’t Turn On – Need Help with First Boot!

I'm building my first PC and everything is connected, but it won't power on. I hooked up the cables, and when I press the D flash plus button, the CPU light turns on, but nothing else happens. I'm using a B650E Aorus X AX Ice motherboard with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I've checked all the pins and looked for motherboard updates, but it's listed as compatible. Any advice on what to do next?

Start by checking all the cables first, especially if you have a modular PSU. Make sure every end of each cable is plugged in correctly, especially the motherboard power cable, which often has two plugs. If your GPU uses a specific power cable, use the one that came with the PSU. After that, see if it posts by using a screwdriver to jump the power pins. You can also do the paperclip trick to test your PSU. By the way, you mentioned a red flashing light—could you give more details on that?

Try reseating the RAM first, then the GPU. If that doesn't work, it might be a faulty part. You can boot the system one step at a time to figure out what’s causing the issue. Also, make sure your CPU fan header is connected properly. Check your motherboard manual for error codes and see if there are any similar posts online. I once had a similar situation where a motherboard and a RAM stick failed when I was moving parts around, but since your components are new, you should be able to get replacements if needed. Good luck!

Glad to hear the screwdriver trick got it to boot! Sometimes it just needs that little boost to kick into gear. Keep us updated on how it's going!
