I was playing a game when my power supply unit (PSU) suddenly blew up after about 30 minutes of gameplay. I have a pre-built PC and had never experienced any issues before this. To make things worse, I discovered that my PSU was a cheap T550 550W model instead of the Corsair 650W 80+ Bronze I thought I had paid for. I've emailed the company about this mix-up, but I'm really stressed and unsure of what steps to take next. Any advice?

First off, don't touch anything inside your PC. You need to find out why they supplied you with the wrong PSU, which is clearly of lower quality. If you fiddle with things, they might try to blame you for the issue later on. Just wait for their response on the PSU situation, and don't replace it until you get clarity on what’s damaged.

That’s solid advice. But I'm curious, how long have you had the PC? Did you notice anything strange before this happened?
