I'm trying to get some childhood photos from my old Clempad for a friend's upcoming birthday, but the device won't turn on. It's pretty ancient, and I noticed the micro USB port seems to have vanished. After several failed charging attempts, I decided to open it up to see if it had a removable SSD (don't judge me, I'm still learning!). I found that the memory is part of the motherboard. I didn't see anything obviously wrong – the battery looks fine with no bulging or discoloration. However, I discovered a loose gray wire attached to the motherboard, which came away from its connection quite easily after a gentle touch. The other end of this wire is stuck to a patch of black tape that isn't connected to anything electrical. I'm puzzled like, what is this wire doing attached to the tablet's plastic case? Could this be causing my tablet's issues, or is there something else that might be wrong?

You might want to upload those photos to an image hosting site like Imgur or imgBB for better visibility. Usually, cables inside should be securely connected, so be careful!
That gray wire is likely the antenna. It's common for that wire to be attached to the plastic case to avoid interference. So it’s probably not related to the power issue. What has me curious is how the USB port just vanished – that definitely sounds unusual for a device. Did you check thoroughly to see if it has just come loose or broken off?
I'm more concerned about the missing USB port too! That doesn’t just disappear, so where could it be? Since you opened it up, it should be visible!
So that wire isn’t the issue then?

I linked the pics now!
