I recently got a new laptop and installed Windows, but now my touchpad isn't working. I've noticed there are some devices in my Device Manager showing as having their drivers not installed. I've tried to update or install the drivers for them, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help?

Windows 10 and 11 generally do a decent job at automatically finding missing drivers through Windows Update, so don't forget to check there too. You might also find the necessary drivers on the support page of the laptop maker's website.
What laptop model do you have? Make sure to go to the manufacturer's website and grab the recommended drivers directly from there—they usually have the most up-to-date versions that will resolve your touchpad issues!
Have you tried tapping on the corners of the touchpad? Sometimes there's an on/off feature that gets accidentally triggered. If that doesn't help, check the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers—they might even have an app that can find and install the necessary drivers for you. Also, take a look at the unknown devices in Device Manager. Open their properties, switch to "Details," set it to "Hardware IDs," and note down the Vendor (VEN) and Device (DEV) codes. You can look those up on a PCI database to identify the device and find the correct drivers.
