My Windows 10 Won’t Boot – Can I Fix It?

I was using the registry editor for a check, but I didn't change or delete anything. After that, my PC keeps booting into the troubleshooting menu. I tried Hiren's BootCD for recovery, but it's showing an error for a missing driver:

File:Windowssystem32driversmsahci.sys
Status: 0xc000000f

It says the operating system can't load due to this missing or faulty system driver. Is there any hope for fixing this, or am I out of luck?

You might be able to replace the missing driver file. If you can access another PC with a functioning Windows installation, grab that msahci.sys file and swap it onto your problematic machine. After that, boot the borked PC with a Linux live USB to see if you can recover anything, or at least get it back up temporarily.

It sounds like you've run into quite the problem. Unfortunately, just checking the registry can lead to issues. It's probably best to prepare for a deep format and reinstallation of Windows. Sorry to say, but that's often the only way to get things back on track.

I feel for you! Messing with the registry can be risky and often results in needing a fresh install. If you're looking for alternatives, though, try using a system restore point if you have one available. That might save you from a full reinstall.
