I recently built a new PC, and everything was running smoothly until a few weeks ago when I started hearing a random scratching noise. It would last for a few minutes and then stop on its own. I monitored the temperatures and performance during this time, but everything seemed normal.
Today, the scratching noise returned. This time, I restarted my PC right after it started, and the noise disappeared upon reboot. I'm curious if anyone has any insights into what might be causing this sound.

If it's mainly happening sporadically, it might not be a continuous issue. Maybe check for any loose cables that could be brushing against the fans or the case.
It could be a fan rubbing against something. Sometimes wires can get loose and interfere with the fans, so it's worth checking all of them to make sure everything's secure.

Interesting point! But if it were a fan issue, wouldn't it make noise constantly? It's strange how it happens so infrequently.
