Hey everyone! I'm looking for some guidance on upgrading my PC. I currently have a setup with an FX-6300 processor, a PNY GTX 970 graphics card, and 32GB of DDR3 RAM. My motherboard is an AMD 3+ 970A-DS3P. I want to know what the best compatible CPU and motherboard combo is that I could switch to. I'd love to get better gaming performance, as I can barely run the minimum requirements for some games. If there are any better options out there for my existing hardware, I'd appreciate your advice!

Realistically, putting more money into an old system like this might not be the best investment. If you're not able to play the games you want now, it might be time to think about a whole new build.
DDR3 is pretty outdated at this point. If you're looking to upgrade, I'd recommend checking for the best used CPU that fits your motherboard. However, if your budget allows, consider saving up for an AM4 or Intel 12th gen system for a significant upgrade in performance.
The quickest way to improve your performance with that existing motherboard is to upgrade to an FX-8370. However, keep in mind that even with that upgrade, you might still struggle with newer games. Honestly, it might be more worthwhile to consider building a new system altogether for better performance.
I don't mind older hardware, I just want better performance for games, not worried about graphics!
I bought my parts off a marketplace and am still learning about all this!
