Need Advice on Upgrading CPU and GPU for Gaming and Editing

I'm currently using a Ryzen 3700X and a Radeon 5700 XT, but I've just purchased a motherboard for the AM5 socket. Now, I'm trying to decide which CPU to go for: should I choose the 7800X3D, 9700X, or the 9800X3D? The 9800X3D is about $190 more than the 9700X, so I'm weighing my options. My primary focus is gaming and streaming (not competitive), and I plan on using dual or triple 1440p monitors. I also freelance in photo and video editing and do some occasional 3D modeling. What CPU would be the best fit? For the GPU, I'm looking at the 9070 XT, 5070 Ti, or 4080 Super. I've heard that Nvidia's CUDA could be more beneficial for productivity tasks. Any suggestions?

Check out these videos for some good CPU and GPU combos! They're really helpful. For 1440p, you're gonna benefit more from a stronger GPU, but since you also edit videos, having more CPU cores matters too. Try to get the best you can afford for both! You might want to look into the 9950X3D and 5090 if your budget allows. Best of luck with your build!

This is really helpful! I might not get a 5090, but I’ve heard the 9950X3D is a powerhouse for both gaming and productivity—definitely considering it.

I'd recommend the 5070 Ti paired with the 7800X3D. That combo should give you great performance in both gaming and editing workflows!

Will consider this, thanks!

I'm going for a 9950X3D and a 5070 Ti. I think the 9950X3D is solid for what I'm trying to do—build both a streaming and gaming PC. Just keep in mind your budget, as prices fluctuate. If you want optimal encoding for streaming, you won't have issues with the 5070 Ti and it will perform well for your projects!
