Hey everyone! I've had my gaming tower for almost 7 years and honestly, I've only added some RAM as an upgrade. Now I'm looking to play the Oblivion Remaster at medium to high quality, but I'm not really sure where to begin with upgrades or what parts I should consider. I don't want to overspend or go for an overly powerful setup since my current PC is a Dell Inspiron 5680. Here's a bit about my specs:
- **Processor:** Intel Core i5-9400 CPU @ 2.90GHz
- **RAM:** 16GB
- **Graphics Card:** GTX 1660 Ti (6GB)
- **Storage:** 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Honestly, with an older system like yours, it sounds like you might need a complete overhaul. Since you have a Dell pre-built, upgrading components can be tricky because of proprietary parts. If you were able to use standard components, that’d be different, but it seems you’re somewhat limited. My recommendation? It might make more sense to sell your current setup and invest in building or buying a new PC altogether. Trust me, it’ll make your life easier!
I agree with TechSavvyGuy23, the best route is likely to sell your existing PC and start fresh. The 8700k CPU would be a nice upgrade, but you’ll need a new GPU too, and your current power supply might not handle it. It's just simpler to cut your losses and build something new instead of piecing this one together. It’ll save you time and headaches in the end.
Good to know! Do you think I could get a decent price for mine if I sell it now?
Yeah, I definitely won’t be going for a pre-built next time! Thanks for the heads up!
