Hey everyone! It's been about 10 years since my last PC build, and I pretty much had a friend guiding me through it back then, so my knowledge is a bit rusty. I'm looking for some feedback on my new build, especially regarding any potential performance bottlenecks or if I've overspent anywhere. I'm willing to adjust the budget if it means getting better value. I want this build to handle games that my current rig struggles with, like Diablo IV, Hogwarts Legacy, and of course, I'll keep playing Overwatch as it's a comfort game for me. Also, I'm planning to reuse my 3060ti from my current setup. Here's what I've put together, with prices in AUD:
- MSI PRO B760M-A WIFI DDR5 LGA1700 mATX Motherboard - $229
- Thermalright AXP120-X67 ARGB Low Profile CPU Air Cooler - $69
- Intel 14th Gen Core i5-14500 (14 Cores, 20 Threads, 5.0GHz) - $359
- Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000MT/s RAM - $135
- Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case - $78
- Crucial P3 Plus 4TB PCIe M.2 SSD - $339
- Corsair CX750 750W 80+ Bronze ATX Power Supply - $95
- Windows 11
Thanks for any help!

Honestly, your build is solid, but think about the cooler. If you want better thermal performance, you might want to go for the PS120 SE cooler instead. It could help keep temps down during heavy gaming sessions. Just a thought!
Have you considered going with an AM5 build? I've noticed a lot of Intel enthusiasts switching to AMD and loving it. You don’t even need the latest 9000 series; the 7000 series will do just fine for all the games you want to play. Plus, AM5 will support future CPU generations, so your motherboard will be good for a while. Your current build looks decent, but an AM5 setup could offer better longevity.
Thanks for the input! I’ll definitely look into swapping out for an AM5 motherboard and CPU. That makes a lot of sense!
Great suggestion! I'll check out the PS120 SE cooler to see if I can fit it in my budget.
