Hey everyone, I'm finally getting around to building my first PC since 2012! I've saved up some cash and put together a list of components on PCPartPicker. Since the last GPU I installed was a 980ti, I could really use your advice on whether I'm making any rookie mistakes or if there's anything I should consider swapping out. I just want to be able to run modern games without a hitch (and ideally without burning down my place!). Thanks a ton for any tips you can provide! Check out my parts list here: [PCPartPicker List](https://imgur.com/a/xI6qv1U)

You might want to consider some of these YouTube videos that guide you on CPU and GPU selection. They break down a lot of important details about the latest parts and how they stack up!
It looks like the setup you have is pretty outdated, especially with DDR4 RAM and an Intel CPU that won't give you an upgrade path. Have you considered moving to AMD? The 5070 and 9070 XT versions would be way better than what you've got, and they're cheaper too. This will give you a much better performance for gaming!
For your motherboard, definitely aim for AM5 if you're looking to future-proof your build. Pair it with some fast DDR5 RAM, like 6000 MT/s CL30 for optimal performance and you're good to go!
Totally agree, AMD is dominating right now! If you’re after strong performance for gaming, look at going for the 7800X3D or 9800X3D. They really pack a punch and are designed for higher resolutions!
I think you should check your storage setup as well. Running a 1TB and 2TB drive isn’t a bad idea, but I’d definitely push for newer components. Also, for the GPU, if ray tracing isn't a priority for you, go with the AMD 9070 XT for a better price-to-performance ratio. Just make sure to set a clear budget before buying!
Good call on the price-to-performance! It really helps to check out guides like on PCPartPicker to get things right.
Yeah, those CPUs are solid! They'll help your build stay relevant for years.
