Hey everyone! I built my own PC back in 2019 with either a Ryzen 3700X or 3800X (can't quite remember), paired with 32GB of 3600 CL16 RAM and an EVGA 2070. Unfortunately, my 2070 just went up in smoke two days ago due to some power stage issue! Now I'm in urgent need of a new GPU.
The used GPU market in Germany is quite a mess since everyone is trying to sell their 30/40 series cards for crazy prices to cover their losses. I was initially interested in the upcoming 5080, but now I'm leaning towards the 5070 Ti which seems like a better deal. I feel a bit out of touch with current hardware trends, so I'm looking for some recommendations.
Additionally, I'm considering upgrading my CPU to a 5900X and increasing my RAM to 64GB CL18 since Lightroom keeps maxing out my 32GB. I usually game at 1440p, primarily older titles. The 5070 Ti is around €750 and the 5080 is around €1020. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’d say go for the 5070 Ti! It’s about 15-20% slower than the 5080 but it’s definitely the best bang for your buck. I recently picked one up and I'm really happy with its performance!
If you’re thinking about a CPU update, the best options on AM4 would be the 5700X3D or the 5700X. Keep in mind the performance improvement might not be huge compared to your current setup. As for GPUs, you might want to also consider the RX 6800 (XT) if you're open to AMD. Just keep in mind that upgrading the CPU first might be beneficial if you're going to invest in new parts.
I checked, and where you are, the prices for the 5700X3D and the 5900X are pretty similar. The 5900X is faster for Adobe tasks, but the 5700X3D can get you better frame rates in gaming!
Thanks for the suggestion!
