I'm looking to upgrade my PC primarily for playing Fortnite and BeamNG, with a focus on competitive gameplay. My old PC's GPU died, and I currently have a new setup with an R5 5500 CPU and a 4060 GPU, but I'm only hitting about 140fps, and it drops to around 80fps when building in Fortnite on performance mode. I'm considering two upgrade options: a combo of the 5700X3D with an RX 6600 for 1000 AUD, or a 5600X with a 9060XT 16GB for 1100 AUD. I'm also looking into the 5800X with a B580 motherboard. Which setup would give me the best boost in FPS for Fortnite, and can anyone estimate what kind of frames I might expect?

I'd definitely go for the 9060XT. It’s a strong performer, especially in GPU-intensive games like Fortnite. Many players find that a better GPU can really enhance their FPS, especially in competitive settings. Since Fortnite is quite demanding on the graphics side, upgrading to that setup should give you a noticeable boost in your frame rates.
I think you should consider how Fortnite plays with your CPU as well. Some say it's more CPU-heavy, so maybe the 5700X3D could be beneficial in the long run if you're looking for overall performance. Still, if you want higher FPS, the 9060XT is probably the right choice.
