Need Help Choosing a GPU Upgrade Within My Budget

I'm planning to upgrade my GPU, but I'm a bit overwhelmed with the options out there. I've heard mixed reviews about NVIDIA and AMD, and I'm looking for some recommendations. My budget is around $600 to $800. Here's what I'm currently working with:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x (12-Core)
- Current GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
- RAM: 32GB

I primarily game at 1440p, but I also do 3D animation, so I'm hoping the new GPU will help speed up render times. Any suggestions?

Considering your needs, the 9070xt might be the best option for you. If you're set on gaming at 1440p and also looking to improve your 3D rendering, it sounds like a solid fit. You might be able to save some cash with a 9060xt if you don’t mind a slight downgrade. Just remember that you might need to upgrade your CPU too, especially to avoid bottlenecking with a stronger GPU.

I hear you on the bottlenecking concern! Since I also do a bit of 3D work, I've found that a balanced setup really helps. Might be worthwhile to think about your CPU upgrade options too.

Make sure your power supply has at least 650W, especially if you're eyeing GPUs like the 5070 ti or 9070 models. They're fantastic options within your price range, but you’ll need to support them properly. Depending on brands and prices floating around, you might catch a good deal too. I've got a 5700x3d with a 9070xt, and I play all my games in 1440p smoothly!

What’s your current power supply? This can really affect what GPU you can run, especially if you’re looking into the high-end options like the 5070 series. Generally, at 1080p, your CPU could bottleneck any high-tier GPU more than it would at 1440p. But with your budget, you could definitely swing a nice upgrade.

I didn’t build my PC, so I’m unsure about the PSU. If I need to upgrade that, I might as well consider a CPU upgrade as well. Any tips on which CPUs would work well with a new GPU?
