Need Help Choosing a New GPU After My PC Died

Hey everyone! I haven't built a PC in a long time, and I'm in need of some advice. My PC, which I bought back in 2019, has finally given up on me. It started having issues where the screen would go black while the audio continued, and the GPU fans would run at full speed. Sometimes resetting the system helped, but lately, even that hasn't worked. Now, I can't even get it to turn on without a black screen and the fans on full blast.

It was using an RTX 2070 Ti, and I'm ready to upgrade. I have a B450 TOMAHAWK motherboard, and I'm looking to spend around $300 to $400 on a new graphics card. I'd really appreciate any insights!

Also, while I'm here, if anyone has any ideas on troubleshooting my old GPU, feel free to share! I've already tried repasting it and reseating the card with no luck. Sometimes the crashes occur even when the GPU isn't under load, which is super frustrating.

I had a similar black screen issue before, and it turned out to be the 8-pin power cables for the GPU. You might want to check or replace those. By the way, which country are you in?

I’m in the USA. I looked at the power cables, and they seem properly seated. I'm starting to think my PSU might be shorting voltage to the card. Accessing the PSU is tough though since it's in a hidden compartment. I regret not building my own back then!

For your motherboard, you can pretty much support any video card. For your budget, I'd recommend looking at the RX 6600 XT 16GB or possibly the RTX 3060 Ti 16GB. Just grab whichever is cheaper in your area!

Definitely upgrade that GPU soon!
