Need Help Choosing a Power Supply for My New Build

Hey everyone! After about eight years without keeping up with hardware trends, I'm ready to dive back into a new PC build. I've been researching for a couple of days now, and I've put together my parts list here: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c62x3w](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c62x3w).

I'm running into a bit of a snag when it comes to selecting a power supply unit (PSU). My thoughts are that an 850W PSU should be sufficient, but I can't seem to find one that has six separate 8-pin connectors (I need three for the GPU, two for the motherboard, and one for the iCUE link hub). Do you think I should just go for a 1000W model like the RM1000x instead? Any suggestions or advice would be super helpful!

You don't actually need three separate PCIe cables for the GPU. Two cables with a pigtail on one should be enough to get three connectors into your GPU and two into the PSU. I’d recommend the NZXT C850 Gold ATX 3.1; it's well-rated and priced around $120. Also, try to avoid those overly expensive motherboards unless they have features you absolutely need. You’d save money going for a solid cooler instead of a pricey AIO for your 9800X3D—you can get a nice air cooler or an affordable AIO if you prefer the aesthetics. If looking at GPUs, a 5070 Ti could save you a decent amount compared to the 9070 XT. Overall, you might be able to get a 9800X3D and an RTX 5080 for a lower total cost by selecting some more budget-friendly components.

I was actually thinking about the NZXT C850 too! Just wasn't sure if the pigtail came included, so I’ll check on that. Good to know about the 5070 Ti; it can be pricey here, but I’ll keep an eye out! As for the AIO, I’d like to maintain a consistent setup with the iCUE link. Any advice on a better motherboard for my build?
