I recently sold my GeForce 3080 for $400, thinking I wanted the latest GPU, but now I'm second-guessing my decision. I'm considering a couple of options based on current prices in the US market: the PNY GeForce RTX 5070 Triple Fan at $597.43 and both Sapphire and PowerColor Radeon RX 9070 models, priced at $741.02 and $817.30 respectively. With the market being unpredictable, I'm looking for advice on what might be the best choice here, ideally under those prices.

The choice between the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti really depends on what you’re using it for. Typically, I'd lean toward the 9070 over the 5070 any day, but that price gap is pretty significant. Just a heads up, Sapphire makes some top-notch AMD GPUs. PowerColor is another solid contender if you want quality.
Moving from a 3080 to a 5070 means losing quite a few CUDA cores—which is a bit shocking for just a couple of generations apart! Whether your 3080 had 10 or 12 GB, this drop might not justify the upgrade. You might want to either go for the 16 GB 9070 or the 5070 Ti, which would pretty much match the CUDA count while giving you that extra VRAM. Good luck with your decision!
