Hey everyone! I'm a total newbie to building PCs, but my laptop recently gave up on me, and I've been saving up to build a PC anyway. I initially planned to wait until summer to purchase all the components, but my current situation is pushing me to get started sooner. Thankfully, my roommate is letting me borrow their laptop, but that's only a temporary fix.
My main goal is to create a machine that can handle work tasks as well as gaming without any lag, especially while using Discord. My old laptop struggled with sharing the screen while playing games like Minecraft and lagged terribly during games like Subnautica and Slime Rancher. Some other games were practically unplayable!
I've got a list of parts that I made a few months ago, found [here](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2F9JV4). I also have a friend who can lend me some old 2x8GB RAM sticks and a 500W power supply for now. Down the line, I plan to upgrade to 2x16GB RAM, and I thought I needed a 750W power supply, but I can't recall why exactly.
I'd really appreciate any suggestions on better components based on my needs and budget. I currently have around $500 extra saved since I decided against buying RAM for now. I'm also looking for tips on how to track prices and figure out when is the best time to buy certain parts. If anyone has advice like when a part's price drops to a certain level, that would be super helpful!

Do you live in the US? If so, is there a Micro Center nearby? If you're considering a 9060XT, you might need a power supply greater than 500W, which might explain your thought about needing 750W. What’s your total budget? I'd be happy to help you build something awesome! Also, do you know the speed of that RAM your friend has?
500W should work fine, really depends on your CPU's wattage though. If it's a 65W CPU, you might be good! But just make sure if you’re planning for a more powerful CPU later, you might need to think about upgrading the PSU.
