Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my PC, which is starting to show its age. Right now, I have an R5 2400G, 16GB of RAM at 3200MHz, a GTX 1650 Super, and an A320M motherboard. This was my first PC build and got me into the whole PC enthusiast thing.
I'm considering upgrading to a higher-tier RTX card, like the 2080 or 3080, but I know I'll likely need a better CPU too. However, I've heard that my A320 motherboard isn't great for higher CPUs. I did see some videos of people using a 3700X or 3900X, but the performance seemed lacking.
Honestly, I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed with where to start, and I'm hoping someone might have a better upgrade plan or recommendations. Thanks for reading, and if you made it this far, you definitely deserve a cookie!

If you're on a budget, the R5 5600 is a solid choice, providing better gaming performance than what you have now. Focus on that first, then look at your GPU options later. It’ll improve your experience significantly!
You might want to check the exact model of your motherboard. You might be able to upgrade the BIOS to support a Ryzen 5600, which could be a great option for you. Since you've upgraded the BIOS recently, that could open up some possibilities for your build!
I’d say go for a Ryzen 5600X, and depending on your PSU, consider upgrading to an RX 6700 XT or an RX 7700 XT if your budget allows. Those cards would give you a solid performance boost for gaming. Just make sure your PSU can handle it!
What kind of GPU would you recommend, new or used?
What GPU do you think would pair well with the 5600?
