In about seven months, I'm heading to Full Sail University to study game development. I've always had a passion for coding, but I'm struggling to teach myself. I'm looking for tips on how to learn C#, as I eventually want to get into C++. Ideally, I'd love a real teacher, but I'm trying to avoid super high costs. Any suggestions on resources or strategies to help me learn?

You might also want to check out YouTube channels like Code Beauty and Chilli Tomato, which offer solid tutorials. Plus, platforms like Udemy have paid classes that can supplement your learning if you're okay with investing a little.

Check out the curriculum for your program. Focusing on what you'll learn in the first year could give you a good head start. If C# is part of that, I recommend diving into Microsoft's documentation—it's full of useful info.

Honestly, starting with Python could be a great idea! It’s a pretty accessible language and helps you grasp programming concepts without being tied to game dev. Once you master the basics, transitioning to C# or C++ will be easier. You can also explore Humble Bundle for game dev books; they often have solid resources you can use.

Reading a good book on programming could really help! It provides depth that online tutorials sometimes lack. Maybe check out some highly recommended titles on C# and C++.

Look for introductory computer science projects online, like those available from MIT. Starting simple with projects like 'Hello World' can build a strong foundation. Plus, familiarize yourself with C# features by checking out their documentation. If you encounter issues, communities like this can be a great support!
