I bought a new iPhone 14, and unfortunately, it got activation locked due to a mistake made by a teen. I provided the original sales receipt and a photo of the phone with its box showing the serial number, but my unlock request was denied. I'm looking for suggestions on what else I could provide to prove that this has always been my phone.

Did you make sure to start your unlock request through Apple’s support page? It looks like you can start it here: support.apple.com/en-us/108934. Just so you know, if you haven’t already, that might be a good first step!
If you have a nearby Apple Store, it’s a good idea to make a Genius Bar appointment with your iPhone, box, and sales receipt ready. They can assist you on the spot, which could save some time!
Unfortunately, the closest store is 3 hours away.
It might help to call Apple Support again and find out exactly why your unlock was rejected. Sometimes things like missing serial numbers can cause issues. If you can get specific feedback, that might help your situation a lot!
Got it, I’ll try that!
Just out of curiosity, why can’t you enter the right Apple ID credentials? If it’s a long story, I understand, but sometimes removing the Apple Account linked to it could be another way to go about this.
It’s kind of complicated, but I would think having proof of ownership should be enough to unlock it.
Yes, I submitted my request there along with the sales receipt.
