Hey everyone! I'm back and will be turning 17 soon, but I don't get to use my PC as much these days, which kind of makes me feel old! I recently got a new monitor (an Acer VG270) and a Logitech G304 Lightspeed mouse, which I'm pretty excited about. I also added a 1TB HDD for extra storage, but I haven't done any major upgrades yet. I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, but I'm stuck because my RAM is DDR3, and any new CPU and motherboard I consider will require DDR4 RAM. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on what I should do. Thanks! Also, if anyone remembers my previous post, I'd love to hear from you!

It’s good to hear you’re making upgrades! Just a heads up, most Dell Optiplex models can be a bit tricky when it comes to upgrades. They typically have proprietary parts that aren’t the easiest to replace. If you want to upgrade your CPU, you might need to consider getting a new motherboard that supports DDR4 RAM, which means you’ll also have to buy new RAM. Just make sure to check if your current power supply can handle the new components, too. Good luck!

Yeah, definitely check your specs. It might be worth looking into a compatible motherboard first before making any decisions!
