Need Help with My Cousin’s Apple Watch Issues

I have a cousin with a cognitive disability who brought me his Apple Watch. He mentioned that it got wet, and he tried putting it in rice for two weeks, but now it seems broken. I checked it out and thought maybe the charger was faulty, but it charged up fine, and the display looked good—no weird lines or colors while it was charging. However, when I touch the screen or press the buttons, it starts making strange noises, like a sped-up voice. The screen vibrates and makes a thud sound but doesn't show anything except the charging screen. It's a Series 5 watch, and I'm unsure what's going on. Anyone have ideas?

Apple Watches are generally pretty waterproof, so it’s unlikely that just getting wet would cause it to break unless there’s significant physical damage like a cracked screen. From what you've described, it sounds like the VoiceOver accessibility feature might be enabled. When this feature is on, it reads out what's on the display when you touch the screen, which can sound like a fast, high-pitched voice. You can turn it off using the Watch app on the paired iPhone. Thanks for the tip! But what about the screen acting weird? After resetting the watch, I see the Apple logo and the charging display, but then it goes blank after a few seconds.
