Hey everyone! I'm putting together my very first gaming PC, and honestly, I'm a bit lost when it comes to all the components and what I should really be paying attention to. I've checked out PCPartPicker, but I realized it doesn't check compatibility for cases and coolers. Here are the parts I've selected so far:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen7 9800X3D
- Motherboard: ASRock X870 Riptide WiFi (gotta have WiFi!)
- Cooler: BeQuiet Silent Loop 3 360
- RAM: ADATA DIMM 48 GB DDR-5-6400 Dual-Kit
- SSD: Samsung 990 Pro Heatsink 2 TB
- Graphics Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming OC 16G
- Case: Fractal Design North XL Chalk White TG Clear
- Power Supply: BeQuiet Straight Power 12 Platinum 1000W ATX 3.1
I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions on these components! Thanks a lot!

For AMD setups, it's better to go for 6000MTs CL30 RAM in a 2-stick kit instead of the 6400. It gives you great performance without breaking the bank!
That cooler you picked is compatible with the case, and you can mount it either in the front or on the top—both options work well!
You can check Fractal's website for the case's specifications. The North XL supports up to 420mm radiators in the front, so your cooler should fit just fine! Also, your motherboard comes with SSD heatsinks already, which is great.
If gaming is your main goal, you might want to save some cash by skipping the premium X series motherboard. A B650 or B850 board would give you similar performance in games but at a lower price point.
Is 6400 really too much to spend on RAM?
