I'm new to building PCs and have mostly used consoles for gaming, but I'm ready to make the switch. My friends are on PC, and I'm excited to join them, especially for competitive play. I also want to use this PC for engineering programs once I finish school. My budget is about $4000 CAD, and I'm looking for recommendations. I currently enjoy playing games like Marvel Rivals and Baldur's Gate, and I'm eager to get Resident Evil Requiem and eventually GTA 6. I've put together what I think is a good build aesthetically, but I'm wondering if I can cut down costs while still ensuring a powerful machine that won't require frequent upgrades. Here's the build I planned: [PCPartPicker Link]. I know my case choice is more expensive, but I really like it!

Unless you really want water cooling, I'd suggest going for the ThermalRight Phantom Spirit for your CPU cooler. It's cost-effective and does a great job!
You might want to check out this alternate build [link]. The setup you chose is around $4600–$4700 CAD, and the case you picked is $400 CAD. I found a case that performs similarly for just $90 CAD, which could save you a lot!
Looks like better bang-for-buck, for sure. How much better would it be performance-wise? Is it significant enough to outweigh the case aesthetics?

I'm not too picky about my cooling system as long as it's not super loud, so I’ll definitely check it out!
