Need Help with My First PC Build

I'm building my first PC and need some advice! I'm going for a new build rather than an upgrade. I plan to use it primarily for gaming, especially CRPGs, Skyrim, and Baldur's Gate, but I also want to do some light 3D modeling for printing. I don't require the very best performance—just smooth gameplay will do. I'm based in the US and unfortunately, don't have a Micro Center nearby, so I'll be buying all my parts online. I'll likely start with a single 1080 monitor but would like to eventually run dual monitors. My budget is around $1000, give or take $50, unless the performance jump is significant. I'm open on connectivity (WiFi or wired) and size/noise isn't an issue as long as it's not too loud. I'm not too concerned about RGB lighting either. Ideally, I want components that I can upgrade later. I have a parts list from PCPartPicker here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mj49PJ. What do you think of my build? Are there any changes needed? Also, what parts should I consider upgrading down the line? Thanks for any help!

Honestly, unless you're totally set on a PC, you might want to just get a console. Spending around $1k for a 1080 setup seems kind of like a waste. Just trying to look out for you!

How much more would I need to budget for a decent PC? I already have consoles.

Would this build run better than 1080, or is there a part that's bottlenecking it?

I feel like you might be better off going for a gaming laptop with a decent monitor. You could find something that matches your needs without going over budget, especially if you're okay with using a dock for it later!

Is there a gaming laptop in that price range that could outperform a pre-built desktop? I’d still prefer the desktop if possible.
