Hey everyone! I recently dusted off my old desktop to play some low-end games and upgraded my RAM from 2x4GB to 4x8GB DDR3. However, I'm running into a problem with my CM Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler. It's a great cooler, but its large size is blocking one of my RAM slots, preventing me from using all my RAM sticks. Right now, I've only got two installed to achieve dual-channel support, upgrading to 16GB total. I'm looking for recommendations on either a stock CPU cooler for my AMD FX-6300 or an aftermarket cooler that will provide enough clearance for my RAM. Any suggestions?

Have you thought about just removing the fan from your cooler while you install the RAM? You can then put it back on afterward! If you’re not comfortable doing that, though, I would suggest looking at something like the Noctua NH-L9i. It’s low-profile and should give you enough room for your RAM heat spreaders without blocking the slot.
I totally get your struggle! The CM Hyper 212 Evo is amazing, but it can be a real hassle with taller RAM. You might want to check out the be quiet! Pure Rock 2. It's not super bulky and still provides solid cooling performance, plus it shouldn't block your RAM slots at all!
