I just got a new laptop and during the setup, I encountered some problems with audio. While updating, an audio update failed, so I followed some advice I found and uninstalled the Realtek audio driver from the device manager, thinking it would reinstall after a restart. Since that time, I haven't been able to get the laptop's sound to work. My AirPods connect fine, but the internal speakers won't make any noise. I've tried downloading Realtek drivers from HP's support page, but they won't install properly. I also tried some methods suggested to manage legacy hardware and noticed Intel audio may be involved, but still no luck with sound. I believe the laptop is not Intel-based, and I can't reinstall the Realtek drivers since the basic driver keeps reinstalling itself. It's an HP Laptop 14-ep1185tu with 24GB RAM and an Intel Core Ultra 5. Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Go to Settings > System > Sound and make sure the "Choose where to play sound" option is set to "Speaker". If you can’t select that, let me know. Also, check that the speaker icon next to "Volume" isn’t crossed out and that the volume level is up. When you click on the speaker, under "Output settings", try running the "Test". Does it make any sound?
Have you checked to see if the output is set to the headphone jack instead of the speakers? Sometimes that can easily happen without realizing it.
Yeah, it’s set to Realtek audio.

Yeah, everything looks good there, but when I click test, there’s no sound.
