PC Constantly Freezing and Blue Screening – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I'm running into some frustrating issues with my PC, and I'd really appreciate any advice. I recently built a small form factor (SFF) computer using an AMD 5800X3D, paired with a GeForce 4080 Super and 64GB of RAM, but I've been experiencing constant blue screens and system freezes. I used to have a 3700X setup with a 2070 Super that worked fine, but since the new build, things have gone downhill.

The blue screen errors are usually showing a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION message, which I suspect is related to driver issues. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling my NVIDIA drivers and even updated my Wi-Fi drivers after using DDU to remove the old ones, but I still face issues. I've also noticed my system behaves poorly with even just one browser tab open. I'm starting to think there may be something wrong with my motherboard or other components.

For your reference, I've attached a link to my BSOD dump files if that helps! Any advice on what I should check or do next would be awesome! Thanks!

It would definitely help to get your dump files to analyze the BSOD better. If you can, look for the files in C:WindowsMinidump and upload them for review. Having a couple of these could give a clearer picture of what's causing the crashes! There are some good file-sharing services out there like MediaFire if you're having trouble attaching them here. Good luck!

Great idea! I’ll pull those and share them. Thanks for the tip!

Also check that your dump settings are set correctly for better diagnostics. Will help in the long run!

Have you tried uninstalling iCUE? Sometimes software like that can throw off system stability, especially if you aren't using peripherals connected to it. After uninstalling, reboot and see if the freezing continues. It's worth a shot!

Absolutely! Sometimes the simplest fixes can lead to the best results.

I can try that! I didn't think of software being the issue. Thanks for the suggestion!

So it sounds like you've got a few things going on. First off, it's pretty common for DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION errors to be linked to RAM on AM4 boards. Before diving deeper, I’d suggest clearing the CMOS on your motherboard and then booting up without any overclocking—just to keep things simple. After that, update your chipset drivers and then your BIOS (don't forget to back things up just in case). If problems persist, consider a fresh install of Windows because it might also be a software issue. By the way, if you haven't connected any peripherals or cards, that could help isolate the issue too! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the detailed steps! I’ll give them a try and keep my fingers crossed that it works.

Also remember to check your BIOS version to ensure you're using the latest! Could be crucial.
