PC Freezing Issues After Switching from NVIDIA to AMD GPU?

I've recently upgraded my gaming setup, swapping out my old NVIDIA 3090 for a Sapphire 9070 XT Nitro+ GPU. Ever since making this switch, my PC has been freezing during games, ranging from every 10 minutes to every 2 hours. This happens while using three monitors (HDMI and two displays with everything extra disabled). During the freezes, the HDMI screen turns green and the others go black, accompanied by crackling sounds, and I can't get it to respond again.

I've disabled all features in the AMD app to run the GPU as a basic card, and I've tried the MPO fix as well as running a system file check (sfc /scannow). I've also cleaned out NVIDIA drivers multiple times, flashed my BIOS, and kept everything updated, but the issue persists. Cooling seems fine too, with my CPU and GPU temps staying within safe limits. The latest attempt is limiting CPU usage to 99%. I'm looking for any ideas on what else I can do to fix this freezing issue!

Have you checked if you're using any remapping software for your controller or headset? Sometimes those can interfere with game performance.

No, I'm not aware of any remapping software being active.

Let me guess, you probably didn't use DDU right? That’s a common mistake causing issues after switching GPUs.

I did use another tool before, but I should've done DDU first. Still, the problems are still here.

Hey, just wanted to chime in that using DDU properly can make a significant difference!

Did you fully uninstall the NVIDIA drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)? It’s crucial for avoiding leftover files that could mess things up. Also, don’t forget to clear the shader cache in Steam when launching games!

I used a different software before, but just tried DDU now. I also cleared the cache, so let's see if that helps!

You might want to consider doing a clean Windows install. I know it's a hassle, but it can sometimes resolve lingering issues that updates or fixes don't catch.

I’m reluctant to go that route since I’ve read mixed results, but I might have to do it eventually!
